Asia’s Expanding Role in Human Tissue

The workshop was hosted at Tsinghua and explored a range of issues and case studies related to human tissue donation and commodification, and involved participants from Chinese, Taiwanese, Danish and Australian universities.

Keynote by Catherine Waldby, Australian National University.

It was truly collaborative. Discussions were vibrant, challenging and really pointed to the importance of focusing on Asia’s rapidly expanding role in human tissue banking, donation, experimentation, and in understanding the sector’s challenges through cultural, social and economic lenses.

The workshop was partly funded by SDC under the coordination of Johanna Hood.
